This radiogram, which was called the Festival Hall, has the Philips "Hi-Z Extended Range" high fidelity system. The speakers, or in this case, singular, are high impedence, 400 or 800 ohms. I seem to recall when the system first came out, they said the idea was that it was not necessary to use a speaker output transformer, so there was no loss of sound quality through the tranny. The output is fed directly to the speakers. When the top front surface is pushed back, it also drops the top front, which becomes a shelf as it opens up access to the radio and turntable. Broadcast, shortwave, bandspread and record player. Got the lot, in glorious monaural sound! Two record storage cupboards underneath.
